The special cutting machinery, Chamfer Cutter, was developed by BTU-TECH on request of the customer who did not want extra thickness of multiaxial glass fabrics at the overlapped zones during the lay-up of the mould. Last year, BTU-TECH had quickly developed a 50” semi-manual cutter that could cut the edges of the fabrics in a varying thickness that starts with the original dry thickness of the fabric and goes down to zero thickness. Seeing the effectiveness of the machine, major wind blade manufacturer “LM Wind Power” company (a subsidiary of GE Company) has ordered a more sophisticated 100” version of it for their Chinese factory. The cutter has been shipped and now doing its job that it is designed to do, far from home!.
