Winding and unwinding operation with heavy rolls require heavy air shafts and safety chucks for a safe operation. Placing and removing the extremely heavy loaded shafts from a safety chuck which has less than a milimeter gap tolerance with the shaft flanges, is a painful process where most of the time operators get their hands stuck, resulting in terrible workplace accidents. BTU-TECH designed and delivered an auto loader & unloader, just to address this problem and speed up operations for a wind blade fabric manufacturer. The machine takes the jumbo roll, places it in the safety chuck and when it is finished, it removes the empty shaft to load the new roll.
