BTU-TECH offering “Multilayer Stitching Line”

Stitching multiple layers of glass fabric tapes with certain overlap distance and a stitch pattern is a critical and time consuming process requiring many operators in wind blade manufacturing. This operation requires at least 4 operators on the unwinding station, stitch pattern marking station, stitching machine station and winding station. Also, at least a 20m long table is required to lay all the layers before stitching operation to setup overlaps. BTU-TECH came up with a very innovative solution requiring only 2 meters af space and only one operator, just to supervise the machine operation. Developed for a glass fabric kitting customer, the machine auto aligns fabrics with edge tracking technology, unwinds with tension, stitches with an electronic pattern and winds with tension control. The modular design allows the customer to increase number of layers.
