CNC fabric cutters are used to process long runs of fabric cutting operations. They are fast, but not suitable for continous operation. The roll feeding from unwinding a jumbo roll makes input fabric feeding continous but the winding of the multiple tapes or irregular shapes at the cutter conveyor output requires start-stops all the time, making it an uncontinous operation. To solve this problem and reduce down time of the CNC cutters, BTU-TECH developed a long conveyor system operating such as a fabric accumulator which enables operators to process packing and/or winding operations without pausing the CNC. BTU-TECH delivered a CNC conveyor feeder to a wind blade fabric manufacturer that is totally in sync with the 3rd party CNC cutter. No operation signal is necessary from the CNC manufacturer. The speed data is taken from the CNC conveyor via sensors and tension can be adjusted with speed difference between both machines. The installed machine has dramatically reduced the labour around the CNC cutting machine at the customer site.
