BTU-TECH completes a new cutter design for slitting fabric rolls, “Roll Slitter”

Most textile lines have fixed widths. Even though some can be changed, in most times, it is not feasible for the textile operations. So, when there is a demand for a different width smaller than the line width, then the manufacturer has to cut the fabric online with an online slitting system which is costly to invest. Even when the customer has this setup, it may still not be feasible to cut few rolls on line, spending much time and labour to make the online cut setup. So the optimum solution for this is to cut these fabric rolls, “offline” which means taking the finished rolls and slice them with a rotating knife or a fixed saw. BTU-TECH has chosen the rotating knife version and created a fully automatic and safe “Roll Slitter”. All cutting parameters such as speed, stretch film wrapping, blade sharpening, blade cooling, number and width of tapes, can be entered, saved or chosen from the HMI interface. The first roll slitter unit has been delivered to its owner within Turkey and cutting multiaxial, woven glass fabrics, CFM and CSM tapes for the end users.
