Glass roving chopper machines are critical complementary machinery on certain lines such as multiaxial glass fabric machines, SMC lines or nonwoven lines. Multiaxial machines incorporate chopper machines to have a chopped strand mat layer in addition to the 0, 90, +45, -45 oriented layers. Likewise, SMC (sheet moulding compound) lines also use choppers to chop glass rovings as the main input of the compound, together with resin. Nonwoven machines use the chopped glass and blend it with different fibers to form the nonwoven surface.
